JALTrans was founded on January 1, 2003 following the merger among three preceding companies: Lanovac, Contact Air Cargo (Contact) and Contact Midwest (CMI).

Lanovac, Contact, and CMI started its business as container freight station. Contact Air Cargo started from May 1985, Lanovac started from April 1988 and CMI began its business since Aug,1991.

Beginning with CFS, each company developed and expanded its business including Ground Handling Services, Freight Forwarder, Customs Clearance, House Hold Goods moving, and JAL cargo handling. During 1990s and the turn of the century, the three companies had its own peak and down in business, and eventually had come to an idea that it would be better off to operate as one company.
